Takekawa-zaiku
This form of bamboo-weaving is said to have originated with one villager who brought back the technique from Edo (Tokyo) and started making bamboo hats during the Enkyo period.
The golden age of bamboo hats lasted up to the Taisho period, but presently food containers are the main products.
Bamboo-weaving work is also popular for making folklore objects and interior accessories.
