Shikatsuno-Zaiku (Antler-work)
The origin of this craft is said to go back to the Genroku period (1688-1704) and records remain which show that craftspeople made products such as combs using antlers or ivory.
From the early days, craftspeople were making bow-grips of antlers and dedicated them on the occasions of the reconstruction of Ise Shrine.
The main products today are accessories such as sash-clips, ornaments and chopsticks.
