Kyo Ningyo (Doll)
The original doll known as "Amagatsu" was formally used as an offering to bring good health and happiness to children in olden days.
In the Heian period, this Amagatsu changed to become a cherished toy doll for the daughters of nobility then later became a decoration doll.
A Kyo doll is the combination of the essence of the separate expert skills of craftspeople who are involved in each part of the process.
