Ise Gama (Sickle)
This sickle making technique, handed down from the latter half of the Edo period (1600-1868), is said to have originated in making ship nails.
As the sickle is beaten by hand, the blade is strong, long-lasting and sharp.
Order-made at present, such blades are used in reaping hooks and sickles for undergrowth clearance.
