Echizen-yaki Pottery
Echizen-yaki is one of the six oldest kilns in Japan and has a long tradition from the end of the Heian period.
The charm of Echizen-yaki can especially be found in its earthy simplicity based on yakishime, its ash or iron glaze and its countrified beauty.
There are more than 200 large scale old kilns, making sake sets, flower vases, tea-utensils and various vessels such as jars or basins for daily use.
