RUGBY WORLD CUP™ PROUD HOST

Deep-fried Curry Bread

In Japan we have "Curry Pan" (Curry bread) which is sandwiching curry in bread.

Higashi-Osaka, known as a town of rugby, inaugurated popularization and promotion of curry bread by way of town revitalization, in tribute to resemblance of the shape of a rugby ball to curry bread, as well as the location of the head office of House Foods Corporation noted for their curry products.

Recently, bakeries in Higashi-Osaka started to offer individualistic curry bread of their own.
Furthermore, selling of Higashi-Osaka curry bread at National High School Rugby Championship has become a typical feature.
